Training w/Wattage?

There isn’t a week that goes by that I don’t do some sort of work with Wattage.  To much and I risk melt down but not enough and things come to a stop. What formula do I use?2008-paragon.JPG

max-wattage.JPGOhms law. This project here came clean with an output of 144,000 Watts after 15 hours. Are you able to put out that kind of wattage after 8 hours? Ok so it isn’t wattage on the bike but my point is don’t get so caught up in formulas and data. Sure I have “training” rides or as creepyfriendly puts it “bike practice” but its a little different than most peoples idea of it.

Most guys & gals “train” to win but I on the other hand “train” for entertainment & fun. What does this mean? To me it means that everytime I go out on my bike its to get better at having fun! So far over the past couple of years its been paying off well. I work with wattage all day so in the evening I train with fun which has only gotten better.  Yes, I’m serious about riding and everyone  including me likes to win but its more about the experience than anything else for me.  Grabbing any one of my 29″ rides, throwing a leg over it and pedaling away, whether it be with others or by myself, relaxation or racing, will guarantee a fun experience. Flat tires, mechanical problems, body fatigue and so on have never left me with a ride that I’ve tagged as a disaster.

back to the point of training with wattage… I don’t. I like the Garmin Edge 305 which records most data and gives me a cool map to send on to others. It also lets me train using courses which I find valuable. You on the other hand you may like some other method of training or practice but whatever you use just remember to have fun. With the fun will come success which I can say from experience.green-acres_1cropped.jpg

Get out there and Ride! And while you’re at it take someone new along.
