Personal rivalries are essential to the sport of Mountain Biking. The arena is a nursury bed for such shenanigans. There is something satisfying in indulging this primal instinct. For any fan of the sport, I think the interest arises in the rivalries and the way in which personalities are sometimes put on display. I, for one, get excited about a good battle. I like a close race with stiff competition and I like the anticipation that is brewed with an ongoing rivalry.
Most people have their own targets, whatever your ability. It’s probably that guy or girl that is a little faster that doesn’t really know who you are. It’s good to aim high.
