The Scott TT

My Saturday morning started off with a great road ride with Mark over to our good friends house, the Scott’s. This usually ends up as a 9 mile time trial to get there by 7:45am. Mark and I rode our Karate Monkey’s and hammered it out in 34min.

Here we picked up Nate and Peter. Nate was sporting his hip new IF, he posed for a quick photo shoot before rolling down to Sampson State Park to pick up Stu. Nate was riding well and often jumped to the front of the group, he even stopped once to inflate a tire saying “don’t worry, I’ll catch up!” Mark flatted on the way back to breakfast, the rest of the crew kept on rolling to their awaiting muffins while I hung back with Mark and once again rescued him. Back at the house we enjoyed the tastiest muffins and coffee made by Ann. Crunchy on the outside with a super-moist center. This is the best part of the Scott TT, however the trick is then getting back on your bike for the 9 mile TT back to Geneva to make it to the bike shop on time. This Saturday, that didn’t happen. Mark flatted for the second time (I think the 5 time this week!) and I had to sprint home solo the last couple of miles to get the car.

Saturday night was full of painting signs for the upcoming Prattsburgh Rambler with Casey and Val.  If you’ll be in the Finger Lakes area on April 27 be sure to check it out.  Sunday was a beautiful day at 60, our first. Mark, Jason, and I all went out to the MPH for a mountain bike ride, that started with a few mishaps. First, Mark forgot his shoes, I brought 2 right gloves while Jason brought 2 left. While I did the glove swap around Mark headed home. Jay and I hit the semi-tacky trails to take advantage of the chance to actually get to warm-up with Mark gone. I got a few hours in on the trails and loved soaking up the sunshine. The best part of Spring is not having to wear a million layers and actually being warm at the end of the ride, no more purple fingers and toes!

However, with Spring comes a muddy puppy! Cadence enjoyed getting out and running and even enjoyed a quick dip in the swamp. That meant a bath when she got home, not one of her favorite things.

Mark and I are planning to hit the MPH tonight for a night ride, all are welcome to join us.

Check out the slide show.

Suzanne,

I haven’t told you how much I enjoy your blog, Mark’s is good as well. It makes me both tired and jealous just reading how much you guys really do.
