Housatonic Hills
No mtb races going on this weekend so did the Housatonic hills Road race, got lost the day before pre-riding and caught in an amazing thunderstorm. Lightning was cool to watch but being cold, wet and becoming completely lost after directions were destroyed by rain was a bit of a bummer.
Stopped and used a state pd officers cell phone and was picked up by my brother, good thing considering I was 10 miles off at that point. From there attended a niece’s birthday party, headed home and got ready. Raced masters 35+ class, great course with 2750 feet of climbing per 27.7 mile lap and lots of winding descents also, just a great time. Unfortunately, 6 hrs. of sleep I got did not like the elevation, distance, etc. I rode in with the lead pack and just stayed out of the way for the guys with legs that day.
Head back into Maine for the www.efta.comseries # 3 race at a great super techy course in Biddeford this Sunday. Look forward to doing it on my Superfly, should be easy with that ride.
