EFTA # 2 Bear Brook Blast Off

Great event brought back into the series this year, course was flat and fast with technical sections put in to slow you down throughout as well. Maybe I should have warmed up a bit more for the elite start as my tush got left behind quickly at this morning’s start.

About forty five minutes into it my legs started to warm up , rest of the race was spent trying to make up lost time. Wound up third overall in elite after the starting fiasco so actually it was a pretty cool race.

The gent who won had to leave early and get back to moving into his new home, that is a long day. Just had a quick look at the photos as posting them, do I even want to know the age of the second place rider? I have to be twice his age at least, cool to ride with the young pros as an old one.

NECS sponsor Cycle Loft was there with a large amount of 29er riders on their team, all post race profit went to mmfc (medical missions for children) who help kids from all over.  www.mmfc.org is the website for this great organization for those interested.

One of my sponsors www.GUsports.com sent out some socks for the feet and a few caps to help keep my head warm while waiting for hair to grow back on the left side.  This one came wrapped in a bandage, thought that should be seen and you can grin just like I did.
