J.A.B.R (Just another big ride)

Sunday was a beautiful day for an epic adventure, 40 degrees and sunny with a south wind sounds like a ride around Keuka Lake to me.

We started in Geneva and set out to ride to the south end of Keuka Lake to Hammondsport and climb Winding Stairs, one of the steepest climbs around and very typical of most of the riding in this area, to the top of the ridge and then back to G-town. The ride ended up being around 87 miles and a little over 6 hours long. That was my longest ride of 08 and it was a good reality check. I fell behind on my nutrition and really suffered on the way home. I had all I could do to stay on Matt’s wheel, and even then I fell of a couple times.

Of the 7 people that started the ride 3 actualy completed the whole thing and we were hosed for doing it. It feels good to have that first ass kicking out of the way.
