Douthat Recovery
Slum. Crushed after a four hour ride but it all worked out with a lake swim complete with modeling session and slide.
After two weeks of non-riding due to inujry/sickness/overuse I got back on the baby blue machine yesterday in the midst of an unseasonably warm heat wave for much of the eastern U.S. of A. In an effort to escape the heat we made a crazed early morning dash for Douthat State park in Clifton Forge Virginia. Some call it Mountain bike Disneyland and with very good reason, a multitude of buff off-camber single track trails wind their way around the park. A handful of raging fast downhills and stellar ridge riding cap off the trail network. Getting back into the groove of things. Harrisonburg’s infamous Tour De’Burg is right around the corner. Gotta rest up. Douthat soothed the body back into riding.

Its hot out folks desperate times call for desperate measures.
We did ride bikes a little bit but not as much as we swam and hung out

That first photo is so sweet! The YMCA/village people slide exit is…anyway.
Next time try it single strap across the chest caveman stylee. It rocks and scares old women at the same time.
