Snow and Rocks, a Match Made in Heaven
A quick hello to everyone else who seems to have jumped into this blog full force, I don’t think there will be any shortage of interesting material to read. Snuck in several long mountain bike rides over the last two weeks, one with ample amounts of snow, about four inches at the top of the mountain and the other with a plethora of rocks. As we drove out to the mountains early Sunday morning we saw a snow line at about 4000′ Few things are better than stealing fresh tracks in the snow on the bikes early Sunday morning. We even overcame a group of hikers just in time to get the final freshies to the top and for the super techy and rocky downhill. Elliot’s Knob (where the picture was taken) is one of the higher points in Virginia but fails to top out at over 5000′ nevertheless it is a titillating two hour climb to the top. If anyone is interested in the photo the complete set of pics from our ride is here at SMT’s photos on google
