Sunny days and breaking in the Superfly

Man, I don’t think we coulda had a better weekend. The past 2 days have been filled with sunshine and riding. Saturday, I put in a long ride in the hills and today, I got to tear into the trails with the Superfly for the first time.

Saturday was a great day. I grabbed the paragon and headed out the door for a big day of views, vineyards and hills. My goal was to head down towards the Village of Naples and grab a few hills on the way. I’d come down with a little cold the past few days so I was taking it fairly mild and was out to get the time and see how the system was working.

Hitting the Open Roads

I ended up feeling pretty good and decided to stretch things out a bit. It was such a nice day, I felt like I could have rode forever. Forever, ended up being 158k (98 mi), just fell short of a century, guess I’ll grab it next time.

Enjoying the Sunshine
Keeping the legs in check

This morning decided to take the new Superfly out to MPH with Mark, Suzanne, C-dog and lizzy girl (our pups). Thing didn’t start out too great, as Mark forgot his shoes and I had 2 right gloves, while Suzanne had 2 left gloves. Suzanne and I decided to head into the trails while Mark headed home to grab the shoes. We met back up with Mark and tore up the trails

The Superfly absolutely rocked. MPH is super technical and has tons of short steep power climbs and a few long climbs. The bike accelerates like a rocket and takes the climbs with ease. My legs were still suffering from yesterdays efforts and I could feel it on the steep climbs. The Superfly did it’s best to take the edge off.

Enjoying the Warmth

One thing I really noticed with the G2 geometery is how much nimbler the bike handles compared to the older 29er geometry and how it just rails in the corners. I was seriously impressed and even able to keep Mark in sight through the tight twisty stuff. We railed around MPH for 3 hours or so and had a blast.
