After a mediocre ride in the State Championship Crit yesterday I figured the perfect way to get my legs back was hitting up Egypt Valley on the Rig. I have been hesitant to ride the singlespeed since coming back from the knee injury and couldn’t wait to let loose on singletrack for the first time in 2+ months. The bike felt smooth the legs felt good and I missed singletrack more than I ever thought. 5 Laps of the State Game Area and 3 hours later I called it a day. The knee feels great the head feels slighty cloudy and my legs are fried. I am hoping that my transition back to dirt continues smoothly and that I can race the Fort Custer TT in 2 weeks. Maybe this long break in the season will end up being good in the end, as Iceman is my #1 goal for the season goal and while everyone else is crispy and burned out I will be chomping at the bit. Perhaps it is time to restart the Monday night rides.
