About two months ago I decided I needed to take a break for “a week or two” to rest the knee I had banged up preriding the Yankee Springs course. Two weeks seemed to only make things worse upon my return to the bike and a doctor visit and MRI’s soon followed. The diagnosis was a cyst that had built up behind the kneecap most likely due to the trauma of knocking my knee. So two months later I am finally back on the bike, just no singlespeeding for a bit, trying to regain a small piece of the fitness I had in April. I never thought I would be wishing for April fitness in mid July. I guess this all means that I have to come back strong for the fall races, especially Iceman. It has been good reading all of your posts and seeing the good results, hopefully I will be tearing it up again soon. At least I am coming back to beautiful weather and some great riding in northern Michigan, one of the best places to ride on the road and the VASA trail and surrounding singletrack isn’t to shabby for a little dirt riding.
