It’s that magic time of year when the schools of fish are out! What do I mean? Years ago I lived out in Southern California and rode with a number of competitive triathletes. Each Saturday, 60+ of us would hop on to our road bikes and take to the coastal highway.
There always seemed to be a magical weekend in early spring when riders would shed their long sleeve jersies in favor of new team kits.
I couldn’t help but reflect on this last weekend riding out in Uwharrie, NC. Within a the spell of a few hours, I must have seen 3 - 29er Crew kits, 5- Fisher Regional Riders, 8 or so wearing Cliff bar jersies and the list goes on, and on…. The great weather we’ve been having on the East Coast has brought old and new mtb friends to the trails. It’s going to be a great season.
