24hrs of Nine mile.

24hrs of racing is a long time no matter how you look at it. But I have been wanting to do 200 miles on a Mountain bike for a long time and the 24hrs of Nine mile seemed like the perfect place. A year ago if you would of told me I would be doing this on a Single speed I would of said you were crazy. After a lot of SS riding all winter it made me realize how consistent it really is. With a little bit of luck and a whole lot of suffering I accomplished all of my goals. Ride the same gear the whole race 34×17, do 200 miles ended up with close to 250, and make it to the podium, took third place in the SS class. It was awesome to get to ride with so many cool people during the 24hrs. The Guiness guy that I ran into every lap! And Mark Burkholz one of the only guys I think I spent any amount of time riding with. The funny thing is I never got a chance to ride with my buddy Mitch, we made up for it on the 8hr drive home after the race, 42hrs without sleep is making want to try something bigger.

You were super strong Dwayne. What a sight to see you just rollin up that long climb seated while I was standing about 1/4 of the way up. Solid.
Nice to ride with another Superfly S.S.. I still say it’s the best S.S. frame made and it was an honor to ride with you for as long as I did.

Its not a bike ride but the MR340 (worlds longest nonstop river race) starts Tuesday. Nice job at nine mile, now 10 laps at the bluff should be a walk in the park!
